When Point Ruston, LLC set out to develop the most talked about view and waterfront property in the Tacoma area, it tapped into JayRay’s wide-ranging expertise.

With plans to transform a former industrial site into a vibrant urban village, Point Ruston hired JayRay to take a long-range strategic view to plan and manage communications—even before ground was broken and the sales center opened.

JayRay supported Point Ruston with strategic communication planning, media relations, outdoor advertising and community relations. And it helped Point Ruston announce a key milestone—a commitment from Silver Cloud Inns and Hotels to open a 150-room, four-star waterfront hotel. JayRay created an online media kit with site plans, renderings, photos and fact sheets, which resulted in major print media coverage in Point Ruston’s target market—including a page-one story in The News Tribune business section.

JayRay also set up a dedicated microsite for online hosting of Point Ruston’s Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement for the City of Tacoma. The site included introductory materials, summaries and official comment instructions, making it easy for the public to review and respond during a 30-day comment period.

With JayRay’s help, Point Ruston was able to increase awareness of, and confidence in, the waterfront neighborhood among local community leaders—as well as potential home buyers and business owners.
