Awareness Boosts Donations

Misperceptions that Boys & Girls Clubs narrowly focused on after-school care and sports were getting in the way of donations. People thought the clubs were a good place for kids to go, but they didn’t know why. Or the breadth of the programs offered.


  • Refocused the message to highlight the range of programs, including fine arts, technology and dance
  • Developed a multi-channel campaign that included billboard, transit, television, online and newspaper advertising, social media and fundraising materials


  • 25% increase in donations
  • 50% more survey mentions in response to “When you think of places/organizations where kids can go to get a good life experience, which one comes to mind first?”
  • Higher awareness of the clubs when compared with other organizations that benefit children; heightened recognition of the clubs’ logo
