Sparks fly when JayRay promotes Desmond Tutu at the Tacoma Dome

With less than two weeks before The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation’s (GTCF) Be the Spark event with Desmond Tutu, more than 14,000 tickets are sold thanks to advertising and promotional materials designed by JayRay.

The Foundation’s Be the Spark movement culminates at the May 13 event featuring Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Tutu as the featured speaker. Be the Spark challenges Pierce County residents to get involved in a cause that matters to them and, in turn, help make their communities safe, healthy places to work and live.

JayRay partnered with GTCF to introduce the foundation’s Be the Spark movement. JayRay developed the creative campaign for the event, including t-shirts, billboards, posters and other promotional items. JayRay’s strategic thinking also sparked the event’s logo: dialogue bubbles representing conversation and action.

Tutu is long recognized as an inspirational leader whose actions changed communities around the world — including South Africa, Zimbabwe and Israel. Other participants in this historic event are Craig Kielburger, founder of Free The Children, and Quest Crew, Season three winner of the MTV series “America’s Best Dance Crew.”

GTCF is also hosting a Be the Spark Dinner before the Dome event featuring Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and Bill Gates, Sr. KING 5’s Margaret Larson will emcee the sold-out dinner event.
