Creative marketing and strategic communication agency JayRay hired Allison Mattson to interest social media users in South Sound destinations, entertainment and recreation. Her focus is creating content across social channels, community management, analytics and reporting.

Mattson honed her social media, writing, research and public relations skills as JayRay’s intern following graduation from the University of Idaho, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

Outside the office, Mattson is volunteer chief marketing officer with Style Her Empowered, a nonprofit that provides girls in Togo, Africa, with skills training, mentoring and tuition assistance.

“Whether she’s writing about Togo or Tacoma, Allison is engaging and purposeful,” said Kathleen Deakins, JayRay president. “She is determined to make a difference for her clients.”

Mattson has had marketing roles at METER Group USA, Palouse Habitat for Humanity, the University of Idaho Center on Disabilities and Human Development, and Management Recruiters of Coeur d' Alene.

Mattson, an Idaho native, enjoys discovering Tacoma landmarks and coffee shops with her husband.
