Glavish Brings Extensive Health Care and Issues Experience to JayRay

Joyce Glavish has joined JayRay as a senior advisor. With more than 25 years’ experience, she is a seasoned executive counsellor in issue communications and integration.

Most recently Glavish served as the regional director for marketing and communications for four hospitals and their affiliated clinics with CHI Franciscan Health. She also has worked for national health care leaders Catholic Health Initiatives and Universal Health Services. Prior to that, she served clients in various industries at APCO Worldwide and Rockey Hill & Knowlton.

Glavish has built a reputation on making complex issues understandable. She was part of the team that developed community support for building new hospitals in Gig Harbor and Enumclaw. She oversaw internal communications to transition an 11,000-person workforce to electronic health records. And, she is passionate about social causes. “Some of the most rewarding work I’ve done has focused on domestic violence and homelessness,” Glavish said.

“In working with Joyce as a colleague and client over the years, I’ve been impressed with her smart, thoughtful approach to addressing thorny issues and marketing challenges, always with a focus on getting a result,” said Kathleen Deakins, JayRay president.

Glavish has a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Washington State University and is a lifelong resident of Washington. She and her husband have two daughters who occasionally still join them on road trips to explore the less-traveled parts of the state.
