Davin Comes to JayRay with Tourism, Event Experience

Moira Davin brings the creativity of an event planner, the discipline of a production manager and the relationship skills of a sales manager to JayRay as the team’s newest advisor.

Davin most recently worked as director of sales for Travel Tacoma + Pierce County. She cultivated business partnerships and worked with the marketing team to promote Tacoma and Pierce County as a destination for conferences and events. She also planned numerous successful conferences and events that helped boost visibility for Tacoma and Pierce County.

“Moira earned her chops attracting visitors, registrants and partners, and then delivering memorable experiences. She has a knack for organizing and energizing teams despite budget and time limitations,” said Kathleen Deakins, JayRay president.

Davin was at the helm of the tourism industry’s Go West Summit that drew more than 600 people to Tacoma and Pierce Countythe largest attendance in the conference’s history.  She secured thousands of dollars in sponsorships and in-kind revenue, exceeding goals and keeping expenses under budget.

As a member of Meeting Professionals International’s Washington State chapter, Davin has been overseeing the Cascadia Educational Conference. She moved the conference website to a new user-friendly platform, created a technology lounge to boost networking and education, and promoted the event through social media. Attendance jumped 10 percent and broke previous records.

Davin graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in communications.
