JayRay Takes Home Three MarCom Awards

A 100-year-old bridge. Employee engagement. And a school district on the path to greatness. The subjects of JayRay’s recent work landed the agency three prestigious MarCom Awards.

  • Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Murray Morgan Bridge (also known as the 11th Street Bridge) earned MarCom platinum honors for the City of Tacoma. JayRay created and coordinated two community-centered events—a 5K walk/run and a rededication ceremony— and attracted hundreds of attendees. More than 20 local businesses and organizations participated along with dozens of local leaders and Gov. Jay Inslee.

  • After a merger brought together nearly 15,000 employees from three distinct health care organizations, KentuckyOne Health needed to find a way to engage employees and promote its new culture. JayRay developed a traveling video series—The Purpose Tour— to capture and share employees’ stories and connect them with KentuckyOne’s mission and vision. The tour earned a MarCom gold award.

  • Tacoma Public Schools’ rebranding efforts garnered MarCom gold. JayRay helped the district define its brand attributes as part of a strategic communications plan. This work aligned messaging, graphics and communication vehicles with the district’s mission and values.
The MarCom Awards honor excellence and creativity in the concept, writing and design of print, visual, audio and web materials and programs. With more than 6,000 entries submitted, the creative competition has grown to perhaps the largest of its kind in the world.
