Donations concrete for Community Health Care

A childhood memory of placing two tiny hands into a wet slab of concrete inspired JayRay’s staff to create the “Leave Your Mark” fundraising campaign for Community Health Care’s Tanbara Health Center in Tacoma’s eastside nationally-recognized Salishan development. Where most fundraising campaigns focus on the problem to be solved and eventually ask for the donation, this campaign asks for the commitment and check. One reader of The News Tribune took the ad literally and donated $1,000.

“JayRay’s creative idea evokes memories of when we were young and wanted to leave a permanent personal imprint for the world to see. The text of the advertising explains the need for the new Tanbara Health Center, especially in these tough economic times,” said Justin Morrill, Capital Campaign Director of Community Health Care.

This innovative advertising campaign was developed prior to legislation that is slashing budgets for supporting health care for low income citizens. In the current economy, the need for contributions has become even more important to the success of the new center.
