We ran, we roared and we soared for St. Anthony Hospital’s groundbreaking celebration!

Run! Roar! Soar! was the name of the game for St. Anthony Hospital’s groundbreaking celebration April 28-29. Franciscan Health System thanked the Gig Harbor community with a weekend full of free events to get them running, roaring and soaring with excitement for the new hospital.

Franciscan turned to JayRay for help planning the celebration that included a groundbreaking ceremony; a 5K run and walk; two performances of Late Nite Catechism; and an afternoon of uplifting music for the spirit by Gypsy Soul. In all, the groundbreaking events attracted nearly 4,000 Peninsula residents.

“St. Anthony Hospital will be a key part of the growing Gig Harbor and Peninsula community,” said Kurt Jacobson, JayRay president. “By thanking the community and celebrating the hospital’s groundbreaking in some truly creative ways, we were able to engage more of the residents the hospital is going to serve.”

However, it takes hard work to be a fountain of fun. The JayRay team, led by senior advisor Shari Campbell, overcame time constraints, permits and unruly Washington weather to pull off a weekend to remember.

The 80-bed, state-of-the-art St. Anthony Hospital is scheduled to open in early 2009.

Franciscan Health System also includes St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma; St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood; St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way; Enumclaw Regional Hospital in Enumclaw; Franciscan Medical Group (a network of clinics and physicians); and Franciscan Hospice House in University Place. Franciscan is affiliated with Catholic Health Initiatives, one of the nation’s largest nonprofit health care systems.
