Reality check! Financial stability must come with financial responsibility

What do coffee chats, blogs, fairs and a kick-ass college grad have to do with one another... or better yet, with credit unions?

I’m recently graduated and no longer financially dependent on my parents! But… I now have to manage my money so I stay financially independent.

There are plenty other young women in the same boat, who want to learn about consolidation, tracking their finances, and investing – without the boring lectures!

Which brings us back to coffee chats, blogs, a graduation fair and a kick-ass college grad. They’re all non-boring ways to connect with us and give us advice:

Host a happy graduation/ finance fair. Free food is a draw! Better yet, throw in some music and socializing with people who can answer our questions and you will make a lasting impression on us. If you have partners looking for employees, they could join in and make it a whole career fair.

Come to us. Offer an online course with eye-catching graphics and coaching information we can use from the comfort of our own home. Have a resource center online. A blog or two-way conversation medium to answer questions, etc., is an easy, less intimidating way for us to get information. Plus, it gets us to your Web site.

Host coffee chats. Hook up with a local coffee shop and offer us free lattes to sip over a consultation. It’s a step up from a boring atmosphere and it’s nice to get some one-on-one advice.

Feel free to add to this list if you have some more ideas.
